Celebrity engagement rings are unsurprisingly getting bigger and bigger (um, have you seen tennis player Caroline Wozniacki’s massive bauble?). As the diamonds increase in size, obviously the price tag appreciates handsomely. Lucky for the rest of you fellow Hollywoodphiles who are obsessed with checking out the latest and greatest A-list ice, we compiled a list of some of the most expensive celebrity engagement rings to date. With prices ranging from $500,000 to the grand prize of $10 million, these sparkling stars (and even a few famous royals) have accumulated quite the covetable jewelry collection—and we have the pics to prove it.
So, whose big-time bling ended up on top? Without further ado, we present 21 of the most expensive celeb gems—from least pricey (albeit still mind-bogglingly costly) to most.
21. Hailey Baldwin
One of the most recently betrothed celebs may actually have one of the most expensive diamonds. While Time pegged Baldwin’s oval-shaped ring as worth nearly $250,000, sources tell TMZ that Justin Bieber actually spent closer to $500,000!
20. Meghan Markle
It’s not surprise the Duchess of Sussex nabbed a spot on our list. The royal has been turning heads and making most fashion lists since she wed Prince Harry in May 2018. But it all started when the Duke of Sussex popped the question with a three-stone ring set on a yellow gold band. The royals explained in an interview soon after their engagement that the center stone was an ethically sourced diamond from Botswana, where they first fell in love, and the surrounding two diamonds were gems that belonged to Harry’s mother, Princess Diana. Diamond experts concluded the center stone was anywhere from 3-4 carats, and due to Harry likely choosing stones with high cut and clarity, would clock in just below $200,000. Meanwhile Diana’s oval diamonds were estimated to be about 0.75 carats each and around $5,000. But experts said their value will have appreciated due to their previous owner; basically, sentiment like this is truly priceless, making Markle’s ring one that will go down in history.
19. Cardi B
Bearing a striking resemblance to Paris Hilton’s bauble from her now broken engagement further down the list, the female rapper’s pear-shaped engagement ring features an estimated 8 carats, and set Offset back $500,000.
18. Angelina Jolie
Although we’re still coping with Brangelina’s breakup, Brad Pitt did good when it came to ring shopping for his former bride. In fact, he reportedly spent almost a year working with jeweler Robert Procop to finalize the table-cut sparkler. Boasting a grand 16 carats (seven from the center stone alone), Jolie’s engagement ring totes an estimated value of $500,000.
17. Jennifer Aniston
Another Hollywood big hitter (and fellow Brad Pitt ex), Jen’s ring from former husband Justin Theroux features an 8-carat emerald-cut solitaire stone, also valued at a hefty $500,000.
16. Kate Middleton
The Duchess of Cambridge’s ring, an heirloom from Princess Diana, is not only iconic, but also crazy expensive. The 12-carat sapphire, surrounded by 14 solitaire diamonds, has appreciated a huge sum since it was first given to Di in 1981—the price tag, once around $47,000, increased tenfold and now sits at $505,000.
15. Amal Clooney
Longtime bachelor George Clooney treated his bride to a 7-carat, emerald-cut, ethically-mined diamond, surrounded by tapered baguettes on a platinum setting. Ice this nice naturally has to cost a pretty penny, and E! News estimates that the Ocean’s 13 star forked over about $750,000.
14. Khloé Kardashian
Although pricey gems are no rarity within the Kardashian clan (and Kim unsurprisingly landed a spot on this list), we’re still astounded by Koko’s 12.5-carat, $850,000 engagement bauble from retired NBA player Lamar Odom. The two got engaged just a month after their first meeting…and wed five days later. They officially called their tumultuous relationship quits in 2016, but Khloé reportedly held onto the ring following their divorce.
13. Gabrielle Union
12. Catherine Zeta-Jones
Considering Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas’s nuptials secured a spot on our roundup of the most expensive weddings to date, it’s only natural that the actress’s vintage Fred Leighton ring would earn a similar accolade at a cool $1 million. Douglas opted for a 10-carat, side-set, marquise diamond bauble for his now-wife of 17 years.
11. Hilary Duff
Retired NHL player Mike Comrie, ex-husband of current expecting mother and former Disney star Hilary Duff, also reportedly spent a million bucks for a 14-carat, princess-cut jewel in 2010.
10. Jennifer Lopez
JLo’s ice is so nice, she made the list twice. Alex Rodriguez recently popped the question to the singer, and he really had to step it up to outshine her previous engagement rings—and wow, did he deliver. The baseball star proposed with a reported 15-20 carat emerald cut stunner set on a platinum band that was estimated to cost anywhere from $1 million to $5 million. It’s getting harder and harder not to be fooled by the rocks she’s got. . .
9. Kate Upton
Model and Brides cover star Kate Upton first debuted her round engagement ring from Justin Verlander at the 2016 Met ball, and we’ve been jealous ever since…especially considering US Weekly predicts that the bauble is complete with an 8-carat diamond and likely falls within the $1.5 million range.
8. Paris Hilton
The hotel heiress announced her engagement to Chris Zylka in January, and her fiancé popped the question with a massive 20-carat bauble (which she proceeded to lose in a club…), also worth an estimated $2 million. That’s hot. This also isn’t her first rodeo—Hilton was previously engaged to a fellow of the same name, Paris Latsis, in 2005. The former proposed with a 24-carat jewel, which Hilton auctioned off to benefit Hurricane Katrina victims.
Veering even deeper into pricey celebrity engagement rings, Ciara’s left ring finger totes a massive diamond sparkler from Russell Wilson, believed to be worth between $2 million and $2.5 million. The “1, 2 Step” singer sported a similarly gigantic rock during her prior engagement to rapper Future, but the 15-carat gem was only thought to be worth a mere $500,000.
6. Blake Lively
Not only are Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds the ultimate #CoupleGoals, but the blonde beauty is also total #EngagementRingGoals. Weighing in at 7 carats and an estimated $2.5 million, the gem features a light pink, oval diamond set in pavé diamonds and rose gold.
5. Jennifer Lopez
Before J. Lo and A. Rod, there was J. Lo and Marc Anthony. Although the couple ended their marriage in 2014, 10 years previously Anthony had proposed with a rare blue 8.5-carat diamond ring, worth $4 million. The “Jenny from the Block” singer also received a 6.1-carat pink diamond bauble, believed to have cost between $1.2 and $2.5 million, during her engagement to Ben Affleck in 2002. No biggie.
4. Kim Kardashian
This list would be nothing without Kimmie’s rock from Kanye, which clocked in at around a cool $4 million when he presented it to her at his stadium proposal in October 2013. Unfortunately, though, the 15-carat sparkler was among the jewelry stolen during Kim’s infamous Paris robbery in 2016.
It should come as no surprise that Queen Bey herself totes one of the world’s highest valued diamonds. Weighing in at 24 carats, Jay reportedly paid around $5 million for Bey’s flashy emerald-cut ring back in 2008.
2. Elizabeth Taylor
The famous actress accumulated her fair share of engagement jewelry throughout her eight weddings, but her ring from Richard Burton is perhaps the most well known. Weighing in at an unbelievable 33.19 carats (yep, you read that correctly), Taylor’s sparkler sold for $8.8 million during an auction in 2011, according to Forbes.
1. Mariah Carey
Clocking in as the most expensive celebrity engagement ring, Mimi’s 35-carat bling from ex-fiancé James Packer reportedly cost a cool $10 million. And the “Obsessed” singer seemed to be a bit, well, obsessed with the jewel. She continued to wear the ring over a year post-breakup, and just recently parted ways with the bauble, selling it to a Los Angeles jeweler in May for $2.1 million.
